Pavel Pervushin (USSR, Russia): World Record in Yerevan

December 7, 1971, Yerevan, Armenia – One of the strongest and most charismatic heavyweights of the 1970s, 24-year old Pavel Pervushin of the Army Club (Leningrad, Russia) sets a new world record in snatch (170.5kg) in the 110kg weight class at the 1971 USSR Cup In Tashkent.

Pervushin won the 1971 USSR Cup with a 565kg total and two gold medals for the USSR Championships in the snatch and clean-and-jerk lifts.
