Robins Are Back For Real!

robin-back-001

The spring is here now. That’s what they say when you see robins coming back.

Little fellas with orange chests and funny looking run on the ground are back for real now.

It looks like an “orange revolution” came to the fields here.

Looks like they are playing good old statue game for kids. The suddenly freeze and then rapidly run and then freeze again.

Fun! Fun! Fun! American Robins are all over!

Happy Spring Coming!

Great news came from Ozone Park, NY.

At the Aqueduct, Jockey Jacqueline Davis won her 500th career start!

Jackie Davis is a fantastic jockey.

We already wrote about one of our favorite jockeys here and we are very pleased to hear the great news that came from the Aquduct.

Our best wishes and congrats to Jacqueline Davis!

Go Figure!

no-worries

“Don’t Worry Be Happy!”

That’s the therapeutic message carried by the two frog figurines on my desk.

Oh well. it ain’t that easy.

When follow the pose of the first figurine (laying on its back), the effect is opposite.

Everybody around starts worrying.

The sitting happiness does the desirable effect on the clients and co-workers.

Go figure these figurines!

Changing the Gears

It’s time to change the gears in my birds photography again.

In the last few months, I was mostly taking pictures of the birds in our backyard.

It’s a different experience compared to going into the fields or woods and trying to capture bird’s life out there.

Less predictable.

Less controllable.

I think the robin in the marsh area fully agreed with these thoughts when he took off this afternoon while I tried to focus on him sitting on the branch.

Time to change the gears!

Yesterday, I saw one of these guys in our area. This is a red-winged blackbird from last summer. They migrated down South last fall.

Comeback of the red-winged blackbirds in late February is another sign that the spring is here.

The one I saw is on the photo below. He was alone. He was sitting on the tree and showing his bright red and yellow patches.

This is one of the males scouting their territory before their families will arrive in a couple of weeks.
