This is a Brown-Headed Cowbird resting on one of the trees in the Belle Isle Marshes.

There are about 750 species of parasitic birds in the world. Only one of them resides in the state of Massachusetts. It is a Cowbird that are known for laying their eggs in the other birds’ nests leaving others to raise their young ones. Over 200 species raise cowbirds. Some of them are much smaller than cowbirds.

With all these said, it’s a debut of Brown-Headed Cowbirds in our birds photography section.

Hidden Rabbit


Here is a hiding bunny in the Belle Isle Marshes of Boston.

Bunnies have s a peculiar response to potential danger.

They freeze. Then they evaluate the danger. Then they run fast.

During his evaluation of the danger by the cameraman looking at him, little bunny said hello to the visitors @ Chidlovski Blog Chidlovski 638 times and then ran away. :-)

Passionate Finches


Our local finches left the yard at 7 p.m.

They said they’ve got to see Game 3 of the Stanley Cup between Washington and Philadelphia.

Capitals won and now leading the series 3-0.
