Forest of Lost Kitties

catbird-16005

The noises from the place mad it sound like a forest of lost kitties.

Those were distinct meow sounds.

Of course, those were note kittens. In facts puppies and kittens and other pets are not allowed to go into the Marblehead Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.

The noises were made by catbirds.

One of them is on the photo. He was sitting on the branch and greeted me with meow statement:

“Howdy, Chidlovski Blog Chidlovski!”

In his language it sounded shorter and more dramatic:

“M-e-e-e-o-w!”

Red-Eyed Vireo In the Marblehead Neck

red-eyed-vireo-16001

One of the distinguished resident songsters of the Marblehead Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, this Red-Eyed Vireo is making its debut as a photo  model at Chidlovski Blog Chidlovski.

Red-eyed Vireos are masters of blending into the scenery of the woods and it’s not easy to find these olive-green and white fellas for a photo shoot.

They move slowly and carefully and the easiest way to find them is to listen to their songs.
