October 22, 1983, Moscow, Russia – Arvo Ojalehto of Team Finland competes in the 52kg weight class at the 1983 World Championships in Moscow.

Arvo Ojalehto (b. 1957) is a 3x Finnish Olympian. He competed for Finland in the bantamweight at the Summer Olympics in 1980 (13th place), 1984 (7th place) and 1988 (12th place).

Arvo Ojalehto was a bronze medalist of the European Championships in 1987 and won the Nordic Championships in 1978, 1979, 1982, 1985 and 1990.

From 1977 to 1992, Arvo Ojalehto won 13 Finnish Championships in the bantam and featherweight classes.

Kaarlo Kangasniemi Wins the Friendship Cup (1970)

March 18, 1970, Minsk, Belarus – Olympic champion Kaarlo Kangasniemi of Finland wins the 90kg competition at the 1970 Friendship Cup in Minsk.

3x Finnish Olympian and author of 17 records, Kaarlo Kangasniemi was literally on the top of the world in the middle heavyweight from 1968 to 1971.

He won the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, the World title in 1968 1nd 1969 and the European title in 1969 and 1970.

Uolevi Kahelin (Finland)

October 23, 1983, Moscow, Russia – 33-year old featheweight Uolevi Kahelin of Team Finland competes in the 60kg weight class at the 1983 World Championships in Moscow.

Uolevi Kahelin (b. 1950) is a Finnish Olympian. He competed in the featherweight at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and took the 8th place.

Uolevi won the Nordic Championships in 1977 and 1978. On the national level, Uolevi Kahelin won 8 Finnish Championships – in 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1982 and 1983 (all 60kg class) and in 1984 (67.5kg class).
